September 11, 2008 marks the seventh anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.  184 people lost their lives at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001, and 2751 people lost their lives at the World Trade Center, inlcuding 343 firefighters.  Since then, two more names have been added to the 343, Robert Beddia and Joseph Graffagnino.  These two New York City Firefighters were killed August 18, 2007 at a fire in a building that was damaged by the collapse of the twin towers and was left without working standpipes.  In 2006 at the 48th IAFF Convention a resolution was passed that made September 11 a day of remembrance for all firefighter line of duty deaths in addition to those on 9/11.  Please take a moment from time to time to remember those 345 firefighters as well as the approximately one hundred firefighters that give their lives in the line of duty every year in the USA and Canada.
